What is “Humbabe”?
It's a term used by ball players when a player does something positive! HUMBABE!
HUMBABE!
The term "Humm-Baby" originated in the 1980s. Coined by San Francisco Giants manager Roger Craig, it derived from his exclamation "come on, baby" to encourage his players. Over time, the phrase evolved into "Humm-Baby".

MEET OUR COACHES
Manny Cabral
Coach Manny graduated from Tewksbury High School in 2010. He went on to play at Northern Essex Community College from 2010-2012 where he earned the national defensive player of the year and a Rawlings Gold Glove Award at the catcher's position. He then moved to the Division 1 program Texas Southern University on an athletic scholarship. While in school, Manny began providing Baseball and Softball instruction for young players. From 2015-2020 he coached many travel baseball programs in New England as well as Northern Essex Community College at the collegiate level from 2018-2020. In 2017, Manny started Humbabe Baseball & Softball Academy providing private instruction and camps and clinics for all age groups. And in the fall of 2020 Humbabe broke into the travel baseball team world with its first team.Fun Fact!

Coach Mac Graduated from Chelmsford High School in 2018 where he was a standout catcher and left handed hitter for the Lions. While in high school, Mac played summer travel baseball for Coach Manny as a catcher and shortstop. After high school it didn’t take long for him to realize he wanted to develop players and get into coaching and joined Humbabe. Cam Mackenzie
Coach Cam attended both Austin Prep and Melrose High School where he played baseball and hockey, graduating in 2018. As a gifted athlete he was able to easily transition from one sport to the other. On the diamond, Cam did it all from catching, infield, outfield, and pitching. While in high school, he played summer travel baseball for Coach Manny from 2015-2017. Cam then went on to play baseball at Nichols and later joined the Humbabe coaching staff in the spring of 2020.Logan Donovan
Logan graduated from Chelmsford High School in 2020 and went on to play softball at Pfeiffer University, playing 3rd base and catcher. She can most often be found on the field taking action shots of all of the players during games! Ani is a senior in high school and is responsible for the HumBabe web site and media content. She has also provided some photography of the players and coaches for the 2024 season, which you can view here. Ani will attend college in Fall 2025 where she plans to study business and marketing.
